1 Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Amendment Notice (No 2) 2024.

2 Commencement

This notice comes into force on 30 September 2024.

3 Application

This notice applies on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 October 2024.

4 Principal notice

This notice amends the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Notice 2015.

5 Schedule 1 amended

(1)

In Schedule 1, in each item specified in column 1 of the Schedule of this notice,—

(a)

replace the figure in column 2 of that item with the corresponding figure set out in column 2 of the Schedule of this notice; or

(b)

if there is no figure in column 2 of that item, insert the corresponding figure set out in column 2 of the Schedule of this notice.

(2)

In Schedule 1, in each item specified in column 1 of the Schedule of this notice, replace the figure in column 3 of that item with the corresponding figure set out in column 3 of the Schedule of this notice.

In Schedule 1, replace the item relating to SNA8 with:

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice amends the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Notice 2015 (the principal notice).

The amendments come into force on 30 September 2024 but apply on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 October 2024.

This notice amends Schedules 1 and 2 of the principal notice to make changes to the total allowable catch, total allowable commercial catch, and deemed value rates for the October 2024 fishing year.

The stocks affected by the changes are blue cod (BCO5), elephant fish (ELE7), flatfish (FLA7), John dory (JDO2), jack mackerel (JMA7), kingfish (KIN3, KIN7, and KIN8), leatherjacket (LEA3), orange roughy (ORH7A), paua (PAU3A), pilchard (PIL7 and PIL8), gemfish (SKI3 and SKI7), snapper (SNA2, SNA7, and SNA8), rig (SPO2), southern bluefin tuna (STN1), sea urchin (SUR3), and silver warehou (SWA3 and SWA4).
