Local Government Elected Members (2016/17) (Certain Local Authorities) Amendment Determination 2016: revoked (with effect on 1 July 2017, after expiring on the close of 30 June 2017), on 27 July 2017, pursuant to clause 15(b) of the Local Government Members (2017/18) (Local Authorities) Determination 2017 (LI 2017/167).

Pursuant to clauses 6 and 7A of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002 and to the Remuneration Authority Act 1977, the Remuneration Authority makes the following determination (to which is appended an explanatory memorandum).
Determination
1 Title
This determination is the Local Government Elected Members (2016/17) (Certain Local Authorities) Amendment Determination 2016.
2 Commencement
(1)
Clause 4(1) comes into force on the day after the date on which the official result of the 2016 triennial general election of members of Christchurch City Council is declared.
(2)
Clause 4(2) and (3) comes into force on the day after the date on which the official result of the 2016 triennial general election of members of Dunedin City Council is declared.
(3)
Clause 4(4) and (5) is deemed to have come into force on 1 July 2016.
(4)
Clause 4(6) to (8) comes into force on the day after the date on which the official result of the 2016 triennial general election of members of Rotorua District Council is declared.
(5)
Clause 4(9) comes into force on the day after the date on which the official result of the 2016 triennial general election of members of Waimakariri District Council is declared.
(6)
Clause 4(10) and (11) comes into force on the day after the date on which the official result of the 2016 triennial general election of members of Whakatāne District Council is declared.
(7)
The rest of this determination comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Principal determination
This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2016/17) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2016 (the principal determination).

Explanatory memorandum
This memorandum is not part of the determination, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This determination amends the Local Government Elected Members (2016/17) (Certain Local Authorities) Determination 2016 (the principal determination), which was made in June 2016. The amendments come into effect on the dates specified in clause 2.
The reasons for the amendments are as follows:
all clauses except clause 4(4) and (5) provide for changes in representation arrangements promulgated by the Local Government Commission that come into effect after the 2016 triennial general election of members:
clause 4(4) and (5) corrects an error in the principal determination.
Date of notification in Gazette: 1 September 2016.
