These regulations are made under section 105(1) of the Crown Minerals Act 1991 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Crown Minerals (Minerals Fees) Amendment Regulations 2025.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 25 September 2025.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Crown Minerals (Minerals Fees) Regulations 2016.
4 Regulation 11 amended (Annual fee payable under onshore mining permit)
After regulation 11(2), insert:

The annual fee payable under a Tier 3 permit is $1,000.
5 Schedule 2 amended
(1)
In Schedule 2, after the item relating to an application for a mining permit Tier 2, insert:

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 25 September 2025, amend the Crown Minerals (Minerals Fees) Regulations 2016. They prescribe fees for Tier 3 permits, a new type of gold mining permit provided for in the Crown Minerals Amendment Act 2025 (the amendment Act).
These regulations—
set out the annual fee payable under a Tier 3 permit and the fees payable for certain other applications and notifications in relation to Tier 3 permits; and
amend regulations that relate to the fees associated with other applications and notifications to clarify that those fees do not relate to Tier 3 permit applications; and
set out the fee for notifications under section 41AG of the Crown Minerals Act 1991 (inserted by the amendment Act).
