Local Government Members (2017/18) (Local Authorities) Amendment Determination 2017: revoked (with effect on 1 July 2018, and after expiring on the close of 30 June 2018), on 26 July 2018, pursuant to clause 15 of the Local Government Members (2018/19) (Local Authorities) Determination 2018 (LI 2018/124).

Pursuant to clauses 6 and 7A(1) and (5) of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002 and to the Remuneration Act 1977, the Remuneration Authority, after having regard to the matters specified in clause 7 of that schedule, makes the following determination (to which is appended an explanatory memorandum).
Determination
1 Title
This determination is the Local Government Members (2017/18) (Local Authorities) Amendment Determination 2017.
2 Commencement
(1)
Clause 6(3) is deemed to have come into force on 5 September 2017.
(2)
The rest of this determination is deemed to have come into force on 1 July 2017.
3 Principal determination
This determination amends the Local Government Members (2017/18) (Local Authorities) Determination 2017.
4 Clause 5 amended (Meaning of hearing)
(1)
After clause 5(b), insert:
(ba)
a meeting for determining a resource consent application without a formal hearing; or
(2)
Replace clause 5(e) with:
(e)
a hearing as part of the process of the preparation, change, variation, or review of a district or regional plan or regional policy statement; or
(3)
Revoke clause 5(f).
5 Clause 6 amended (Meaning of hearing time)
(1)
In clause 6(e)(ii), after “paragraph (c)”
, insert “; and”
.
(2)
After clause 6(e), insert:
(f)
writing a decision arising from a hearing or communicating for the purpose of the written decision.
6 Schedule amended
(1)
In the Schedule, Part 1, item relating to Southland Regional Council, item relating to Chairperson, replace “100,750”

Explanatory memorandum
This memorandum is not part of the determination, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This determination amends the Local Government Members (2017/18) (Local Authorities) Determination 2017.
Clauses 4 and 5 are amendments to clarify certain details of the determination consistent with the Remuneration Authority’s original intentions.
Clause 6(2) corrects an error in the principal determination. All other amendments in clause 6 are made at the request of the councils concerned.
Clause 6(3) is deemed to have come into force on 5 September 2017. The remainder of this determination is deemed to have come into force on 1 July 2017.
