Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Amendment Notice 2018
Pursuant to regulation 22 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 and section 15 of the Interpretation Act 1999, the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries gives the following notice.

1 Title
This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Amendment Notice 2018.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Principal notice
This notice amends the notice that was previously called the Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu, Oaro, and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Notice 2014 (the principal notice).
4 Name of principal notice changed
As from the commencement of this notice,—
(a)
the Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu, Oaro, and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Notice 2014 is called the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Notice 2014; and
(b)
every reference in any enactment and in any document to the Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu, Oaro, and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Notice 2014 must, unless the context otherwise requires, be read as a reference to the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Notice 2014.
5 Clause 1 replaced (Title)
Replace clause 1 with:
1 Title
This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Notice 2014.
6 Clause 3 amended (Interpretation)
In clause 3, revoke the definition of Oaro Mātaitai.
7 Clause 4 amended (Notification of appointment of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki)

In the heading to clause 4, replace “Tangata”
with “Tāngata”
.
(2)
In clause 4(1), delete “, Oaro Mātaitai,”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, amends the notice that was previously called the Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Mangamaunu, Oaro, and Te Waha o te Marangai Mātaitai) Notice 2014. The amendments are made because Oaro Mātaitai Reserve, declared by the Fisheries (Declaration of Oaro Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2018, comprises Oaro Mātaitai (declared by section 22 of the Kaikōura (Te Tai o Marokura) Marine Management Act 2014) and an extension over the South Island fisheries waters in the lower reaches of the Oaro River.
