Pursuant to regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.

1 Title
This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for Area/Rohe Moana of Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke) Notice (No 2) 2019.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on 29 November 2019.
3 Revocation of this notice
This notice is revoked at the end of 16 September 2024.
4 Customary food gathering area/rohe moana
This notice applies to the customary food gathering area/rohe moana, which is an area centred on Lyttelton Harbour, being seaward from the Heathcoate River outlet at Shag Rock (South Shore Spit) to Adderley Head, including the whole of Lyttelton Harbour, but excluding the Avon/Heathcote Estuary.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 (the regulations). It comes into force on 29 November 2019 and revokes itself at the end of 16 September 2024.
The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke. The area/rohe moana is an area centred on Lyttelton Harbour, being seaward from the Heathcoate River outlet at Shag Rock (South Shore Spit) to Adderley Head, including the whole of Lyttelton Harbour, but excluding the Avon/Heathcote Estuary.
Notice is given of the appointment of 6 Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the area/rohe moana. The Minister of Fisheries made the appointments at the request of Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke.
The powers of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki are set out in the regulations.

1 General
