This order is made under section 22 of the New Zealand Business Number Act 2016—
(a)
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b)
on the recommendation of the Minister for Small Business made in accordance with section 22(2) of that Act.

1 Title
This order is the New Zealand Business Number (Māori Entity Identifier) Order 2020.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 14 September 2020.
3 Schedule 4 of New Zealand Business Number Act 2016 amended

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 14 September 2020, adds information indicating whether an entity is a Māori entity to the lists of information in Schedule 4 of the New Zealand Business Number Act 2016. The effect of this is that entities will be able to provide information about whether they are a Māori entity and, if they are, the factors that indicate that the business is a Māori entity.
