Members of Parliament (Accommodation Services for Members and Travel Services for Family Members) Amendment Determination 2020: revoked, on 15 October 2023, pursuant to clause 60 of the Members of Parliament (Accommodation Services for Members and Travel Services for Family Members) Determination 2023 (SL 2023/195).

Pursuant to section 17 of the Members of Parliament (Remuneration and Services) Act 2013, and to the Remuneration Authority Act 1977, the Remuneration Authority, after complying with section 18 of the Members of Parliament (Remuneration and Services) Act 2013, makes the following determination (to which is appended an explanatory memorandum).

Determination

1 Title

This determination is the Members of Parliament (Accommodation Services for Members and Travel Services for Family Members) Amendment Determination 2020.

2 Commencement

This determination comes into force on 1 September 2020.

3 Principal determination

This determination amends the Members of Parliament (Accommodation Services for Members and Travel Services for Family Members) Determination 2020 (the principal determination).

4 Clause 2 amended (Commencement)

In clause 2, replace “20 September 2020” with “18 October 2020”.

Explanatory memorandum

This memorandum is not part of the determination, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

On 17 August 2020, the Prime Minister announced that the 2020 general election will be held on 17 October 2020. It had originally been scheduled for 19 September 2020.

The change to the date of the general election has implications for the Members of Parliament (Accommodation Services for Members and Travel Services for Family Members) Determination 2020 (the principal determination). The principal determination was scheduled to commence on 20 September 2020, the day after the original date set for the general election.

This amendment determination changes the commencement date of the principal determination to 18 October 2020, which is the day after the rescheduled date for the 2020 general election.

1 General

This is a consolidation of the Members of Parliament (Accommodation Services for Members and Travel Services for Family Members) Amendment Determination 2020 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.

2 Legal status

A consolidation is taken to correctly state, as at its stated date, the law enacted or made by the legislation consolidated and by the amendments. This presumption applies unless the contrary is shown.
