These regulations are made under section 149B of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993—
(a)
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b)
on the recommendation of the Minister of Internal Affairs made after being satisfied of the matters specified in section 149B(5) of that Act.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Commercial Video on-Demand Levy Amendment Regulations 2025.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 30 May 2025.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Commercial Video on-Demand Levy Regulations 2021.
4 Regulation 3 revoked (Revocation)
Revoke regulation 3.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 30 May 2025, revoke regulation 3 of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Commercial Video on-Demand Levy Regulations 2021 (the principal regulations). Regulation 3 provides that the principal regulations are revoked on the close of 30 May 2025.
The effect of the revocation is that the existing levy prescribed in the principal regulations will remain in force until it is reviewed and amended or revoked.
Date of notification in Gazette: 17 April 2025.
These regulations are administered by the Department of Internal Affairs.
