Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Passport (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2022.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 25 May 2022.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Passport (Fees) Regulations 2015.

4 New regulation 3A inserted (Periods to which fees relate)

After regulation 3, insert:

3A Periods to which fees relate

The fees prescribed in the tables in the Schedule apply to the following periods:

(a)

the fees set out in the third column apply to applications lodged in the period beginning on 25 May 2022 and ending on 24 May 2023:

(b)

the fees set out in the fourth column apply to applications lodged in the period beginning on 25 May 2023 and ending on 24 May 2024:

(c)

the fees set out in the fifth column apply to applications lodged on and from 25 May 2024.

5 Schedule replaced

Replace the Schedule with the Schedule set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 25 May 2022, amend the Passport (Fees) Regulations 2015 (the principal regulations).

The schedule of fees in the principal regulations is replaced with a new schedule that increases the fees payable in respect of passport and travel document applications in 3 stages from 25 May 2022, 25 May 2023, and 25 May 2024.
