Order

1 Title

This order is the United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulations Revocation Order 2022.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 September 2022.

3 Revocation of United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulations 2010

The United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulations 2010 (SR 2010/96) are revoked.

4 Revocation of this order

This order is revoked on 1 November 2022.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 September 2022, revokes the United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulations 2010, because those regulations are no longer required. Those regulations gave effect to resolution 1907 (2009) of the Security Council of the United Nations adopted on 23 December 2009, which called for the imposition of certain sanctions in respect of Eritrea. This order gives effect to resolution 2444 of the Security Council of the United Nations, which revoked those sanctions.

This order is itself revoked on 1 November 2022. Having done its work by that date, it will no longer need to be published as part of the collection of current legislation.

1 General

This is a consolidation of the United Nations Sanctions (Eritrea) Regulations Revocation Order 2022 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.

2 Legal status

A consolidation is taken to correctly state, as at its stated date, the law enacted or made by the legislation consolidated and by the amendments. This presumption applies unless the contrary is shown.

Section 78 of the Legislation Act 2019 provides that this consolidation, published as an electronic version, is an official version. A printed version of legislation that is produced directly from this official electronic version is also an official version.
