This order is made under section 34(3) of the Data and Statistics Act 2022—
(a)
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
(b)
on the recommendation of the Minister of Statistics.
Order
1 Title
This order is the Data and Statistics (2023 Census) Order 2022.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 2023 Census
The period of time during which the census will be taken is the 24 hours beginning at midnight on Monday 6 March 2023 and ending at midnight on Tuesday 7 March 2023.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order is made under section 34(3) of the Data and Statistics Act 2022 and appoints the 24 hours of 7 March 2023 as the period of time during which the next census of population and dwellings will be taken.
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2019.
