These regulations are made under section 167 of the Climate Change Response Act 2002 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Climate Change (Forestry) Amendment Regulations 2024.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 28 June 2024.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Climate Change (Forestry) Regulations 2022.
4 Schedule 1 amended
In Schedule 1, replace Part 2 with:
Part 2 Application of regulations 15A to 15C
11 Application of regulations 15A to 15C
Regulations 15A to 15C apply to the financial year commencing on 1 July 2024 and to subsequent financial years.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 28 June 2024, amend the Climate Change (Forestry) Regulations 2022 (the principal regulations).
The regulations remove the requirement to pay annual and part-charges payable for the period of 19 October 2023 to 30 June 2024. That requirement was imposed by the Climate Change (Forestry) Amendment Regulations 2023. It applied to ETS participants who undertake a removal activity relating to post-1989 forestry that is specified in Part 1 or Part 1A of Schedule 4 of the Climate Change Response Act 2002.
The requirement to pay the relevant annual and part-charges will apply to the financial year commencing on 1 July 2024 and to subsequent financial years.
