These regulations are made under section 30A of the Oaths and Declarations Act 1957 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Oaths and Declarations (Māori Language) Amendment Regulations 2022.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 21 October 2022.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Oaths and Declarations (Māori Language) Regulations 2004.
4 Schedule amended
In the Schedule, forms 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 9, replace “Kuini Irihāpeti te Tuarua”
with “Kīngi Tiāre te Tuatoru”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 21 October 2022, amend the Oaths and Declarations (Māori Language) Regulations 2004 (the principal regulations).
The amendments update the oaths and affirmations prescribed in the principal regulations by replacing references to “Kuini Irihāpeti te Tuarua” (Queen Elizabeth the Second) with “Kīngi Tiāre te Tuatoru” (King Charles the Third).
Date of notification in Gazette: 20 October 2022.
These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Justice.
