Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Russia Sanctions Amendment Regulations (No 6) 2022.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 8 June 2022.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Russia Sanctions Regulations 2022.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 8 June 2022, amend the Russia Sanctions Regulations 2022 (the principal regulations).

All the amendments fulfil the purpose of the principal regulations, which is to give effect to the Russia Sanctions Act 2022 by imposing sanctions in response to Russia’s military actions in relation to Ukraine (and in response to any assistance from any other country or person).

Additional entities are added to the sanctions regime so that the principal regulations apply to state-owned enterprises and other companies of strategic importance to Russia (including Belarusian entities).

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2019.

Date of notification in Gazette: 7 June 2022.

These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
