Order

1 Title

This order is the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Amendment Order (No 4) 2022.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force at 11.59 pm on 8 April 2022.

3 Principal order

This order amends the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Order 2021.

4 Schedule 2 amended

In Schedule 2, group 1, revoke the items relating to American Samoa, Cook Islands, Samoa, and Vanuatu.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order amends the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Order 2021 (the principal order). It comes into force at 11.59 pm on 8 April 2022.

The amendment removes American Samoa, the Cook Islands, Samoa, and Vanuatu from group 1 of Schedule 2 of the principal order. Travellers who have been in those countries are now subject to Schedule 14 of the principal order instead of Schedule 11 of the principal order. The main effect of the change is that those travellers are now required to undergo testing for COVID-19 after arriving in New Zealand.

Approval by resolution required

This order must be approved by resolution of the House of Representatives before the expiry of the period described in section 16(2) of the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020. If this does not happen, the order is revoked on the expiry of that period.

1 General

This is a consolidation of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Amendment Order (No 4) 2022 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.
