Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice, which comes into force on 1 October 2024, is made under section 2(1) of the Land Transport Act 1998 (the Act). It specifies the maximum towage fee (excluding GST) that is payable in respect of a parking offence under the Act. The amount of fee payable depends on the gross weight of the vehicle being towed and the time at which, and the day on which, it is towed.
Before this notice, the towage fee payable in respect of a parking offence under the Act (including GST) was specified in the Transport (Towage Fees) Notice 2004. This notice revokes and replaces that notice. The revocation does not affect the amount of towage fee that is payable in respect of a parking offence that was committed on or before 30 September 2024.
