These regulations are made under section 105(1)(i) of the Crown Minerals Act 1991 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Crown Minerals (Petroleum Fees) Amendment Regulations 2024.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 6 June 2024.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Crown Minerals (Petroleum Fees) Regulations 2016.
4 Schedule 1 amended
In Schedule 1,—
(a)
insert the Part set out in the Schedule of these regulations as the last Part; and
(b)
make all necessary consequential amendments.
5 Schedule 2 amended
In Schedule 2, after “41,”
, insert “41AC,”

3 Fee for application under section 41AC of Act
(1)
The fee specified in Schedule 2 for an application under section 41AC of the Act applies only to applications made on or after 6 June 2024.
(2)
Regulation 12 is subject to this clause.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 6 June 2024, prescribe a fee for an application under section 41AC of the Crown Minerals Act 1991. The application is for the consent of the Minister for Resources to a change of control of a permit operator of a Tier 1 permit that relates to petroleum. The fee is $3,000 exclusive of goods and services tax.
Date of notification in Gazette: 9 May 2024.
These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment.
