This order is the United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Legislation Amendment Act Commencement Order 2025.

2 Commencement of United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Legislation Amendment Act 2025

The United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Legislation Amendment Act 2025 comes into force on 28 August 2025.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Legislation Amendment Act 2025 (the Act) into force on 28 August 2025, which is the date on which the New Zealand–United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (the UAE CEPA) comes into force.

The Act amends existing legislation to enable New Zealand to implement its obligations under the UAE CEPA.
