Accident Compensation (Experience Rating—Canterbury Adverse Event) Notice 2011
Pursuant to regulation 23 of the Accident Compensation (Experience Rating) Regulations 2011, the Minister for ACC gives the following notice.
Notice
1 Title
This notice is the Accident Compensation (Experience Rating—Canterbury Adverse Event) Notice 2011.
2 Commencement
This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Aftershocks are adverse events
Each of the following aftershocks of the 4 September 2010 earthquake in Canterbury is an adverse event:
(a) each aftershock that occurred on 22 February 2011:
(b) each aftershock that occurred or occurs after 22 February 2011.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
The effect of this notice is that the Accident Compensation (Experience Rating) Regulations 2011 apply to a qualifying claim resulting directly or indirectly from the 22 February 2011—or any subsequent—aftershock of the Canterbury earthquake only if the person whose levy is affected contributed materially to the injury for which the qualifying claim is made.
Date of notification in Gazette: 31 March 2011.
