This order, which comes into force on 15 January 2026, deems the Solicitors’ Fidelity Guarantee Fund (the fund) to be wound up.

The fund, which was established under prior legislation, was continued by the Lawyers and Conveyancers Act 2006 (the Act) for the purpose of reimbursing persons who suffered loss due to thefts committed by solicitors before 1 August 2008.

The Act provides a final date for submitting claims against the fund. That date has now passed and all claims submitted by that date have been dealt with. Accordingly, this order deems the fund to be wound up.
