Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 10 April 2025, amend the Fisheries (Recordkeeping) Regulations 1990 (the principal regulations).

Regulation 13(3) of the principal regulations sets out the information that must be included on purchase invoices. Regulation 4 amends regulation 13(3) by requiring purchase invoices to include separate greenweight entries for each species with a code required to be used on monthly harvest returns as specified in circulars issued under regulation 47(1)(a)(v) of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2017. The code required to be used differs from the code required to be used for the same species on any other report.
