1 Title

These regulations are the Marriage (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2026.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 18 June 2026.

3 Principal regulations

These regulations amend the Marriage (Fees) Regulations 1995.

4 Regulation 5 amended (Goods and services tax included)

Replace the heading to regulation 5 with “GST excluded”.

(2)

In regulation 5, replace “inclusive” with “exclusive”.

5 Schedule replaced

Replace the Schedule with the Schedule set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations, which come into force on 18 June 2026, amend the Marriage (Fees) Regulations 1995. The amendments specify the fees payable for various matters during the following periods:

on or after 18 June 2026 and before the close of 15 June 2027; and
on or after 16 June 2027 and before the close of 15 June 2028; and
on or after 16 June 2028.

Regulatory impact statement
