Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Regulations 2026

These regulations are made under section 147(1)(ca) of the Sentencing Act 2002 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Sentencing (Offender Levy) Amendment Regulations 2026.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 July 2026.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Sentencing Regulations 2002.
4 New regulation 3A inserted (Amount of levy)
After regulation 3, insert:
3A Amount of levy
For the purposes of section 105D of the Act, the amount of the levy payable under section 105B of the Act is $100.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 July 2026, amend the Sentencing Regulations 2002 to increase the amount of the levy payable by an offender under section 105B of the Sentencing Act 2002 from $50 to $100.
