This order, which comes into force on 8 July 2026, is made under the Major Events Management Act 2007 (the Act). It amends the Schedule of the Act, which contains permanently protected emblems and words. Use of those emblems and words that is not authorised or covered by an exception or a defence is, under sections 28 to 32 of the Act, an offence for which the maximum penalty is a fine of $150,000. The Act also contains (in section 34) related prohibitions and authorising provisions for registration of bodies under names, or of emblems, if their use would be an offence under section 28.

The amendments—

• remove 4 emblems from, and insert 6 new emblems into, Part 1 of the Schedule:

• add 2 names to clause 1 of Part 2 of the Schedule:

• replace and update Part 3 of the Schedule.
