This order is made under section 3(2) of the Rates Rebate Act 1973 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
Order
1 Title
This order is the Rates Rebate (Specified Amounts) Order 2026.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 1 July 2026.
3 Principal Act
Clause 4 amends the Rates Rebate Act 1973.
4 Section 3 amended (Rates rebate)

In section 3(1)(b), replace “$805”
with “$830”

In section 3(1AA)(a), replace “$45,000”
with “$46,400”
.

In section 3(1AA)(b), replace “$32,210”
with “$33,210”
.
5 Revocation
The Rates Rebate (Specified Amounts) Order 2025 (SL 2025/63) is revoked.
6 Saving
A ratepayer’s entitlement to a rebate for a rating year ending before 1 July 2026, and the amount (if any) of that rebate, must be determined as if this order had not been made.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 1 July 2026, amends section 3(1) and (1AA) of the Rates Rebate Act 1973. That section provides for a rates rebate for low-income home owners.
This order—
increases the maximum rates rebate from $805 to $830; and
increases the income threshold in relation to a rates rebate,—
for a ratepayer who holds a SuperGold Card, from $45,000 to $46,400; and
for any other ratepayer, from $32,210 to $33,210.
