Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill

Proposed amendments

Hon Louise Upston, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 5 and cross-heading above clause 5

Delete clause 5 and the cross-heading above clause 5 (page 4, lines 17 to 21).

Clauses 10 and 11 and cross-heading above clause 10

Delete clauses 10 and 11 and the cross-heading above clause 10 (page 5, line 30 to page 6, line 17).

Clauses 24 to 27 and cross-heading above clause 24

Delete clauses 24 to 27 and the cross-heading above clause 24 (page 10, line 3 to page 11, line 10).

Clause 28

In clause 28, delete the definition of Wairau Hospital Site, East End (page 11, lines 29 to 35).

Clause 29

In clause 29(1), delete “, the Wairau Hospital Site, East End,” (page 12, line 4).

Clause 31

Delete clause 31 (page 12, lines 30 to 32).

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper (SOP) amends provisions of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill that relate to the Reserves Act 1977, the Auckland volcanic cones land, the Picton Office land, and the Wairau Hospital Site, East End.

Clause 5 of the Bill repeals 3 provisions of the Reserves Act 1977. These amendments have now been made by the Reserves Amendment Act 2015 which came into force on 26 March 2015 and, therefore, are redundant.

Clauses 10 and 11 of the Bill concern the Auckland volcanic cones land. The SOP removes these provisions because further consultation is required in relation to this proposal.

Clauses 24 to 27 of the Bill concern the Picton Office land in the Marlborough District. The SOP removes these provisions because further consultation is required in relation to this land.

Clause 31 of the Bill cancels a trust affecting the Wairau Hospital Site, East End. Since the Bill was introduced and reported back from the select committee the trust has been cancelled by other means. Accordingly, this SOP deletes clause 31 and amends clauses 28 and 29(1) to remove references to the Wairau Hospital Site, East End.

Land Information New Zealand considers that a departmental disclosure statement is not required to be prepared for this Supplementary Order Paper.
