Employment Standards Legislation Bill

Proposed motion to divide Bill into 5 Bills

Hon Michael Woodhouse, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, Part 1, and Schedules 1 and 2 be a separate Bill, and that the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and the Part 1 heading be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Parental Leave and Employment Protection Amendment Act 2016.

2 Commencement

(1)

Sections 78 to 80 come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

(2)

The rest of this Act comes into force on 1 April 2016.

That Part 2 and Schedule 3 be a separate Bill, and that the Part 2 heading be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Employment Relations Amendment Act 2016.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on 1 April 2016.

That Part 3 and Schedule 4 be a separate Bill, and that the Part 3 heading be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Holidays Amendment Act 2016.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on 1 April 2016.

That Part 4 and Schedule 5 be a separate Bill, and that the Part 4 heading be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Minimum Wage Amendment Act 2016.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on 1 April 2016.

That Part 5 and Schedule 6 be a separate Bill, and that the Part 5 heading be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Wages Protection Amendment Act 2016.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on 1 April 2016.

This Supplementary Order Paper divides the Employment Standards Legislation Bill into the following 5 Bills:
