New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Bill

Proposed amendments

Hon Jenny Salesa, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 5

In the heading to clause 5, replace “Care and Support Workers” (page 2, line 5) with “Support Workers”.

In clause 5(1), replace “Care and Support Workers” (page 2, line 7) with “Support Workers”.

After clause 5(2) (page 2, after line 11), insert:

Repeal section 9A(3).

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Bill to—

  • reflect the name of the Care and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017 changing to the Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017 (see section 4 of the Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlements Amendment Act 2020); and

  • repeal section 9A(3) of the Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017 because it refers to section 70B(1) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000. Section 70B(1) is repealed by the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Bill.

Departmental disclosure statement

The Ministry of Health considers that a departmental disclosure statement is not required to be prepared for this Supplementary Order Paper.
