Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Freedom Camping Bill by omitting paragraphs (a), (c), (e), (f), (g), (i) and (k) from clause 18(1). The omission of these paragraphs removes the offence of freedom camping on both local authority and conservation land. Retention of clause 18(1)(b)(i) and (ii), together with clause 18(1)(h)(i) and (ii), and (j) retains the offences, on both local authority and conservation land, of depositing waste on the land or interfering with or damaging the land, its flora or fauna, or any structure on the land.
