Proposed amendment

Rt Hon Winston Peters, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 5

After subclause (2) (page 7, after line 2), insert:

  • (2A) Section 4(1) is amended by repealing paragraph (a)(iii) of the definition of authorised purpose and substituting the following subparagraph:

    • “(iii) the maintenance and development of racing club infrastructure and racecourses, including the payment of wages and salaries and purchase of goods and services ancillary to this purpose, and the promoting, controlling, and conducting of race meetings under the Racing Act 2003, including the payment of racing stakes:”

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 5 of the Bill to include the payment of racing stakes along with the promoting, controlling, and conducting of race meetings under the Racing Act 2003.
