Consumer Law Reform Bill
Proposed motion to divide Bill into 6 Bills
Hon Craig Foss, in Committee, to move as follows:
That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, subpart 1 of Part 1, and Schedule 1 be a separate Bill, and that the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, the Part 1 heading, and the subpart 1 heading in Part 1 be replaced with:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Fair Trading Amendment Act 2013.
2 Commencement

(1) This Act, except the provisions specified in subsections (2) and (3), comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
(2) Sections 6(3), 7, 9, 10, 11, 12B, 18, 22, 23, 23A, 25, 30, and 31 come into force on the day that is 6 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.
(3) Sections 11A and 26A come into force on the day that is 15 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.
That subpart 2 of Part 1 and Schedule 2 be a separate Bill, and that the subpart 2 heading in Part 1 be replaced with:

1 Title
This Act is the Consumer Guarantees Amendment Act 2013.
2 Commencement

(1) This Act, except the provisions specified in subsection (2), comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
(2) Sections 35, 35A, 35B, 36, 39, 40A, 41, and 43 come into force on the day that is 6 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.
That subpart 3 of Part 1 be a separate Bill, and that the heading to that subpart be replaced with:

This Act is the Weights and Measures Amendment Act 2013.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
That subpart 4 of Part 1 be a separate Bill, and that the heading to that subpart be replaced with:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Amendment Act 2013.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
That subpart 5 of Part 1 be a separate Bill, and that the heading to that subpart be replaced with:

1 Title
This Act is the Carriage of Goods Amendment Act 2013.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day that is 6 months after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
That Part 2 and Schedule 3 be a separate Bill, and that the Part 2 heading be replaced with:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Auctioneers Act 2013.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
